HOUSE DEDICATION JANUARY 10, 2016—–See our Event Page for pictures
Habitat for Humanity of East Bay Rhode Island is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization.
Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with families in need, to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.
The East Bay of RI affiliate has no paid staff. This means that all donations are directed towards building homes. We are required by covenant to tithe (10%) of local contributions to Habitat for Humanity International.
Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor – “sweat equity” – into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Habitat for Humanity East Bay RI that is used to build more houses.
Roger Williams University
RWU has a campus chapter that provides volunteers, volunteer coordination and support to the East Bay RI Habitat for Humanity Chapter.
Home Ownership
Habitat for Humanity is not accepting applications for home ownership at this time. We expect to build again in 2016. Please check back then.
